The "Casa" clinic is at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport, KDKB, DeKalb, IL. Arrival day is Thursday July 17th, 2025, and the clinic will begin with a ground school that evening at 1600. Attendance is mandatory for participants who have not attended a formal, instructor-taught ground school. I will probably come in Wednesday afternoon in case there is anyone that wants to get in some formation practice early on Thursday. There will be a mandatory safety briefing at 0800 on Friday and Saturday. Last year runway 09/27 and taxiway "A" was closed for construction.  Construction has now been completed and the runway and taxiway are open.

We will depart for KOSH on Sunday, July 21st as one or more flights.

Please review ALL of the registration steps below before proceeding:

• REGISTER ONLINE:
  • Begin by clicking on the Register Now button, supply the requested information. There is a $25.00 registration fee for this event to help the cover host's expenses. (You must be logged in to register.)

• INSURANCE. 
  • Upload a Certificate of Insurance (COI) that meets JLFC's Clinic Insurance Requirements. You do so by visiting My Formation Documents on the Formation+ menu. (Once uploaded and approved, COIs remain available to JLFC clinics until the underlying policy expires. You may also review your uploaded COI status by visiting My Formation Documents.)

• HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT:

  You can accept the HH terms before or during registration, Download the JLFC Hold Harmless Agreement here, print it, sign it, and have it witnessed, then scan, and upload the document by visiting My Formation Documents. Each person registered, including guests, must sign an agreement.

• Recognition of Pilot in Command. NEW:

  You can accept the PIC terms before or during registration, Download the Pilot in Command agreement here, print it, sign it,  and have it witnessed, then scan, and upload the document by visiting My Formation Documents.

Other Information:

• TRAINEE PREPARATION.

  Pilots seeking training must have the following

  • Private Pilot Certificate or greater
  • Membership with a FAST signatory, (JLFC Preferred)
  • Current annual/airworthiness inspection
  • Operating Intercom
  • Radio with the ability to transmit and receive from both seats
  • "An Evaluation" flight is required for first-time clinic participants.
  • Dual controls

• MEALS:

  Snacks, water, coffee, and beverages are provided each day at the DeKalb FBO. Lunches will be brought in each day based on group preference. Dinners will be group reservations or on your own.

Group Name: JLFC - 15 rooms available Block room cutoff date is June 17, 2025 so make your reservations early. If all the contracted rooms are booked early I'll ask for more rooms.

Rates would be $109 for Thursday and $169.00 a night for Friday and Saturday.Rooms can be canceled by 1600 on Thursday.

• FUEL & OIL:

  DeKalb FBO will fuel us from a truck. All participants will need to set up an account on arrival with a credit card.  The airport manager has promised to give us a fuel discount, amount to be determined.

• HANGARS & OTHER:

  Hanger space is limited and available on a first come/first served basis. Call the FBO (815) 758-3521 or the new airport manager (Ben) at (815) 748-8102 now to be placed on the list. The ramp is large, but in the event of a higher turnout of aircraft than can be accommodated on the ramp, some aircraft may have to park on the grass. Bring your own tie-downs and anchors. NOTE: If you are going on to Oshkosh after the clinic, you will need to have both tie-downs and anchors for on grass parking in the Warbird parking area.
